My second piece

Hello everyone today I'm sharing my second piece for the current challenge at County View Crafts there is still a couple of days to play along using the colour Blue.

I used lots of texture paste in the background and then sparayed the canvas with Blue Media Mist from Decoart. Over the top of that I sprayed some different blues from Lyndy's stamp Gang. You can see the touch of gold from the mica in the sprays.

For the flowers I used white whitbossing powder with a stamp from Lin Brown for Paper Artsy

I hope you get a chance to play along but don't forget to follow the rules for your entry to be eligible to be considered for the £20 voucher from Country View Crafts .

Take care and I'll see you all soon.

Masterboard

Hello everyone, it great you stopped by thank you. I'm sharing a Masterboard inspired by the intoduction to the new theme over at Paper Artsy. Leandra's demonstration using the brayer is fabulous. I also loved the colours in the pinky purple greeny one which is my favourite palette at the moment.

So this is my board

I would normally use some stencils and stamps at this stage, then cut it up for backgrounds. However, this time I left it as it was. I wanted to use it in different ways so leaving it plain made sense.

I first cut it in half - A5 and the other into two A6s.

The A5 I left plain - the paints I used were Fesco Acrylic in Lavender, Blue Glass, Rose , Gracumole and Teresa Green.

I used this piece for a face that I'm linking to Kim Dellow's Show your face link up. Follow the link for all the info.

I used Vintage Lace, Rose, Cherry Red, and Blue Glass for my girl.

Next I made a card using stamps by Sara Naumann 17/18 and Archival ink in Colbot, Olive and Libray Green. I painted the leaves first in Blue Glass and the a touch of Gracumole.

I'm going to enter the challenge at Paper Artsy. See you all soon Hugs Debs xxx

New challenge at Country View Crafts

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by, especially as today I'm sharing my inspiration for the new Challenge that starts today over at Country View Crafts. The theme the lovely Rachel chose for us is Make a scene! How fab is that especially, as

it's the month of bells and snow,

Christmas puds and drinks that flow,

reindeers, elves and the man in red,

bringing toys to children in bed.

Moving on, there is an array of beautiful creations over on the blog from my talented teammates so if you have time go check them out. Details here.

My first piece this month is a snowy scene in the dark.

I started by scraping some Fresco Acrylic paint across a Smoothy board

I loved the effect this gave. It was easy to choose my stamps from here on in as it looked like snow to me

I used a mix of Sara Naumann 18 and Hot pix Christmas 8 both from paper Artsy with black Archival ink and a touch Cherry Red Fresco paint on Father Christmas's coat.

I'll be back later in the month with my second project, but checkin tomorrow as I'm showing a few or my miniature art. Take care and see you soon.

Hugs Debs xxx

Workshop at Birds In the Barn

Hello everyone, I hope you have had a nice weekend. I've been busy but it's been lovely. I chilled pretty much all day yesterday and today I taught a journal page workshop at Birds in the Barn Marks Tey. The ladies really looked after us and we had a lovely lunch, lots of tea and coffee and even home made cake from Karen. Janet always ensures that as many products are available for us to use all of which she sells in the shop.

It was lovely to see the group of ladies again and we had such fun. At one point I thought there might be a riot, as one eager lady was busy spraying her page and before she new it she was spraying the lady's next to her lol. Luckily it went lovely with what she was doing so harm done. It was funny though especially when she realised she had also sprayed herself.

We also had a special treat as the lovely Tracy Marriott brought in some of her amazing polymer clay ornaments, and jewellery. It was a real treat for the eyes, she is very talented and has some fabulous pieces.

Here we all are showing our pages

The foundation of the page was Four Paper Artsy Fresco Acrylics from the same colour family, for mine I chose Lavender, Pansy, Moon Light and Wisteria. I then sprayed some Turquoise Dylusions Ink and because it has the acrylic underneath it doesn't sink straight in creating some fab patterns.

At this point the ladies were invited to choose their stencils and stamps and we proceeded to complete our pages. The theme was poppy's, well it is November...

And here they are

Well that's it for this month. I couldn't fit a day for December so, my Workshop is January 9th, there are two only two places left already so if this is your thing get booked in quick.

See you all soon hugs Debs xx

Some cards,

Hello everyone, welcome! I had a few pieces of design work to do and then it was time for free play so I made some cards. Yes I know! I hate making cards. It's weird, really after giving my self permission not to make cards I am gradually starting to enjoying it again, if I'm in the mood.

I was playing with some Fresco Acrylic Paints and Lyndy's spray dies. Once the page was finished I cut it into four.

Using a leaf stencil I added a little Gruacamole to each card. On top of this I used Iridescent Bronze from Golden. I chose a mix of stamps from Paper Artsy and once dry I mounted each onto black card.

I added a little grunge paste to look like snow and sprinkled some gold fine glitter, well it is forChristmas!

They are still a little damp so I haven't mounted them onto the cards except for one

I've got some ideas for some more so I'll be back with them once they are finished.

Take care all and I'll see you

Hugs Debs xxxx

New Challenge at That's Crafty

Hello everyone, I'm very pleased it's Friday, not just because it's nearly the weekend but it's also the day that a new challenge starts at That's Crafty. This week the theme is Black, White and a hint of ...

There are some fabulous projects from my team mates to inspire your imagination and by entering the challenge you will be in with a chance to win a £20 voucher to spend in the shop.

My inspiration was a simple birthday card

Here's what I did.

  1. I took a piece of 8x8 craft card and folded it in half. On the front I splogged some Nougart Fresco Acrylic paint from Paper Artsy.
  2. Using black Archival ink I stamped the feature which is magnolia dress form, from Deep Red
  3. I added some more detail with Frises Délirantes by Azoline from Carabelle
  4. And then stamped my sentiment and added some blacks jewels.
I really enjoyed making this card although a completely different style for me and it was quite a challenge to keep it clean but I got there.

I do hope you are inspired to have a go. Take care

, see you soon Debs xx

Whimsey

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by. It's been a blustery day here in Essex although it hasn't been cold. I've had the whole day to play, but my mojo went for a walk. Time being so prescious, this frustrated me a lot. After trying to find inspiration for a couple of hours I gave up and watched some TV.

I went back into the craftroom, but still nothing expired me. So I got the Fresco Acrylics from Paper Artsy and some Smoothy card and started brayering colours onto the card.

I then got out the stencils and using only two created this.

By now I sort of new that a face was coming

The Fresco Acrylic colours I used were, Pansy, Lavender, moonlight Hey Presto, Snowflake, Nougart, Blush Little BLack Dress, Vintage Lace and Cherry Red, from Paper Artsy. So was the leaf Stencil.

Archival Ink in, Fern Green and Watering can from Ranger.

Gray white board is from That's Crafty.

I haven't settled into the new craftroom yet, it is nice but it's not the shed, and I'm not in the garden. I'm sure I'll settle down. Well you all take care and I'll,see you soon. Hugs Debs xx

Abstract

Evening everyone, I hope you are all well. Today I have an Abstract I created to enter the Paper Artsy challenge. I love playing this way and so when Leandra announced the theme I knew I would have to play.

I brayered several colours in layers onto a grey/white board 8x8 from Paper Artsy. The Fresco Acrylic paints l used were Nougart, Caramel, French Roast,

I then added a little Lake Wanika, and gave it a good dry. I sprinkled some blue Bister powder and spritzed it with water. I manipulate the board to move the colour and then dried it. I sprayed some Lyndy's Dyes Opal Spray Oats, and Tme Travel Teal.

I added some More Bisters in Blue and dried the board. Using the Lid and Cherry Red Fresco Acrylic paint I added 3 circles.

To finish I added some Dutch Gold Leaf. I have had this years and found it during my big tidy up.

And there you go! See you all soon, take care Debs xxx

Made it, Well it is still Friday!

Hi there, thanks for popping. On Fridays I like to create a face; I love creating faces, and I'm learning to let go, and loosen up. And, I love linking to Kim Dellow's Show your face If you don't know about Kim's big link up then follow the link. In brief a wonderful array of faces get shared from some amazing artists. It truely is wonderful, seeing so many different styles.

For November Km invites us to create in a style of our favourite established artists; I haven't had time so far but hope to have a go.

Another great place is Face to Face, a closed Facebook group who share their faces. You can ask to be added if you would like to share your faces.

I haven't mangaged to create much lately as work has taken much of my energy, which is good! I feel I have a renewed interest, a new challenge. But that's work, so enough of that! Back to not having enough time or energy to create much. What I did have time for was some digital art.

I am really loving these small circles and have been playing with them a lot on the iPad. I'm after the new IPad by the way but it's not looking good... Yet!

Well enough waffle, I'll say good bye now, take care all! see you soon, hugs Debs xxx
