All things spooky

Hello Everyone today I’m sharing a scary woman I created for Halloween and a special post over on The Mixed Up Mag blog where some of the team share their fiendish makes to get you in the mood. To be honest though I’m a little scared myself, as I’m trying to write this post in my normal app and it’s doing some really weird things, like opening and closing it’s self for no reason. I’d best get it finished!

Here is my spooky woman

I first drew then painted her and once she was finished I took a photo then took her into an app on my IPad called Distress FX. Here I gave her the vintage look. Below are the different steps.

Wishing you all a spooky Halloween
Keep safe

What an amazingly day!

Hello Everyone, I just couldn’t let this evening go by without sharing the fabulous journal pages my ladies created at Handmade at Helen’s earlier today.
The original sample which we used for inspiration was created with lots of layers of collage, paint, sprays and use of stencils. For the feature I drew and painted some simple flowers.

To demonstrate the techniques I was teaching I created this page.

And just look what these talented ladies did!

If you have ever been to one of my classes you will know that I encourage you to find yourself  through creation. I teach you the techniques you need to make your own journal page and you come away with something unique to you. You do not end up with same as everyone else as you do in traditional classes. You will learn about colour theory and how to use colour to express yourself.  One lady today said she isn’t creative, and cannot draw. Well, she now knows she is creative and she can definitely draw.

Here we go in no particular order!

Aren’t they all fabulous!

If you want to learn to create beautiful journal pages then speak to your local craft shop. Maybe I can come to a shop near you, to show you how anyone  can create pages to be proud of, unique to yourselves.

Take care for now

It’s Autumn! No it’s Jane! Okay it’s Autumnal Jane!

Morning everyone, I hope my title didn’t confuse you too much lol. Today I’m over  at one of my other homes on the net, CountryView Crafts with my second inspiration for Rachel’s Autumnal Colours. I used one my stencils Boho Jane from ArtZone to create this journal page.

First I used VersaMark  through the stencil, applying it via wet and dry foam. I then sprinkled sparkle embossing powder by Ranger and heated it until it had done its magic.

Once cold I began to paint Jane with Sennelier Watercolours blending out to the background. I used mark making to add visual texture to the piece. I added some doodles for interest and Page done!
A simple but satisfying creation which was fun to make.
Don’t forget by entering the challenge you are in the draw to win a voucher to spend in the shop.

Stay creative and I’ll see you soon.

New challenge for Country View Crafts -Mixed Media with Autumn colours

Morning everyone today sees the new challenge at CVC chosen for us by the lovely Rachel. All the details as usual are over on the blog and don’t forget if you enter the challenge you could win £20 to spend in the shop.

Here is my first inspiration of the month

This was a very quick card using handmade paper, some empowers watercolours and wooden pieces.

I was so in the flow I forget to take photos along the way but I’ll talk you through it.

I started by tearing my paper to fit my card and then stuck down some flowers. Shown with black pen to highlight

I then used Sennellier Watercolours in Autumn Tones onto the paper. I also painted my wooden pieces. I then stuck it to my card.

Once it was dry I added the wooden flowers and leaves.

Then stamped a sentiment Voila!

Take care and I’ll see you later
