Today sees the start of a new challenge at Country View Crafts and the theme chosen for us by our lovely Sue, is Anything Postcard size. As always you could win £20 to spend in store.

I was thrilled to make something for this, which was a while back now, as I was crafting in advance due to the move, and  I was on a roll. I had a few days leave over the Christmas holidays and the art was flowing lol. Anyway here is my card!

Here what I did

Lots of Distress Oxide spritz with water

Lots of that fabulous Gold from Gansai Tambi by Kuretake

I got so engrossed I forgot to take more pictures but I’ll walk you through

Background stencil and Archival Ink,  Tim Holtz Paper Dolls Paperie, the wings are leaves from MMM ArtZone stamped with Vintage Script from Rubber Dance, and I cannot remember where the sentiment came from.

I hope you can join us

That’s all for now

Little houses

Hello everyone, here I am again with more creative inspiration, this time for Country View Crafts. The them is Anything but cute and you could win £20
To spend in the shop, and with all the new stuff coming out of Creativation 2018 which I know will soon be in the shop now is a great time to enter.

So today I’m sharing these little houses. I’ve had this die for ages but never got round to using it, so I cut myself a bunch out,  and have a ready stack.

So here’s what I did

Laying out the different pieces I decided to add lots of texture, using Craft Paste through a stencil.

Below is the roof pieces

And the body of the houses

Standing it up to get an idea of what it looked like. I throughly dried the paste with a heat tool

The paint I used was Chalk Mists , and here and there Gold

I added some washy tape for interest, and as the stencil I used created what looked like doors and windows I made these stand
out with a black pen.

Again a touch of Gold

Material I used

Houses and Washi Tape - Tim Holtz, Sizzix
Grunge Paste - Paper Artsy
Stencil - Essentials no 1 ArtZone
Paints - Chalk Mists 13@rts
Gold - Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions please leave in the comments and I’ll get back to you

Take care

New Challenge for Country View Crafts

Hello Everyone today I’m over on the Country View Craft blog with my post for this months theme. It was my turn to choose  and as it is December we had to have Christmas but this year you can also have Red Green with Rust. So huge possibilities! I hope you can join in with us and play along, as you could be in with a chance to win a voucher to spend in the fabulous shop.

So here is my piece

Here are some process shots

So I used a large MDF tag, cogs and heart (from Samantha K Gifts) all adhered with Heavy Matt Medium (Golden) and let them dry over over night.

I then used Limestone Stone Medium (Prima) painted all over, and when dry I added paint from the Patina set (Prima) and brown Rust (Prima) and again let it dry. I then added the metallic paint from the Patina set to the main area.
To finish I added some red from Dina Wakley onto the tag as well as painting the heart(Prima)
And there you have it.

The challenge runs through to the 31st and I would love to see what you make.

Take care

It’s Autumn! No it’s Jane! Okay it’s Autumnal Jane!

Morning everyone, I hope my title didn’t confuse you too much lol. Today I’m over  at one of my other homes on the net, CountryView Crafts with my second inspiration for Rachel’s Autumnal Colours. I used one my stencils Boho Jane from ArtZone to create this journal page.

First I used VersaMark  through the stencil, applying it via wet and dry foam. I then sprinkled sparkle embossing powder by Ranger and heated it until it had done its magic.

Once cold I began to paint Jane with Sennelier Watercolours blending out to the background. I used mark making to add visual texture to the piece. I added some doodles for interest and Page done!
A simple but satisfying creation which was fun to make.
Don’t forget by entering the challenge you are in the draw to win a voucher to spend in the shop.

Stay creative and I’ll see you soon.

New challenge for Country View Crafts -Mixed Media with Autumn colours

Morning everyone today sees the new challenge at CVC chosen for us by the lovely Rachel. All the details as usual are over on the blog and don’t forget if you enter the challenge you could win £20 to spend in the shop.

Here is my first inspiration of the month

This was a very quick card using handmade paper, some empowers watercolours and wooden pieces.

I was so in the flow I forget to take photos along the way but I’ll talk you through it.

I started by tearing my paper to fit my card and then stuck down some flowers. Shown with black pen to highlight

I then used Sennellier Watercolours in Autumn Tones onto the paper. I also painted my wooden pieces. I then stuck it to my card.

Once it was dry I added the wooden flowers and leaves.

Then stamped a sentiment Voila!

Take care and I’ll see you later

Shine on

Hi everyone, today I'm over at Country View Crafts with my second inspiration for this months challenge. The lovely Miriam chose Metal for us this month and I've been doing my best not to go for something rusty. Those of you that know me, know I love Rust, but it's my go to, so I was determined to do something different.

I stamped the girl from Your Beautiful by Rubber Dance designed by Moi, I drew her a cloak and surrounded her with flowers. I used a piece of handmade paper I had saved from our wedding stationery.

I first painted her with Mermaid Markers, watering down the ink to lighten the colour. Once these layers were dry I added areas of metallic paint
to catch the light. In the image above the shimmer is hard to see as I was using artificial light.

Once completely dry I stuck the paper onto Bronze Mettalic Paper and then mounted it onto the white card

I intend to make myself a little stash of cards as I'm not good at remembering to look at my calendar.  I either keep forgetting or struggle to make them  when my muse goes walk about. This way I'll have a few to dip into as a back up.

Take care all
Hugs

New Challenge at Country View Crafts

Hello everyone I do hope you are all well as we go into September, one of my favourite months. I just love the colours of Autumn with the the beautiful rich tones of red gold and brown. Today sees the start of a new challenge at Country View Crafts whose theme is Metal. When our lovely Miriam chose Metal I was full of images of rusty things. You know I love my Rust, but then I got to thinking that maybe something different would be more of a challenge.

I'll show you what I did in a minute but first, don't forget if you win you will receive £20 to spend in the shop. Also my teamies have made some fabulous inspiration which is all too good to miss.

I decided to use embossing powder through a Stencil onto a metal card. I wanted to see how it would come out firstly, but secondly I knew the light would  give the card lots of lights and shadows. It would also look very different in natural light which you can see at the end of the post.

Initially the image couldn't be seen very well so I used Distress Crayons around the negative space. I really liked the affect of the waxy crayon on the metal.

In fact I liked it so much I took into the the face and scarf.

There were no contrasts, which for me currently doesn't work, so I added some detail around the eyes and a hint around the chin
which brought balance.

Look from a different angle

And lastly all the tones are warmer on this last image as it was taken in sun.

I was quite happy with my experiment and look forward to using different mediums on the card to see what effects I can get

I hope I have inspired you to play along and enter this month's Challenge.

Oh by the way tomorrow's the day tic toc

New Challenge at Country View Crafts

Hello everyone today is the 1st August can you believe how quick the year is going? On 8th of this month I will have been living in Carlisle for 6 months which feels amazing. I must be enjoying myself!

Well I certainly enjoyed creating a journal page for the new Challenge given to us by the lovely Corrie, who chose Blue and Green. There are loads of fabulous makes on the Country View Crafts blog by my very talented teamies to inspire you. Enter your creations to be in the draw to win £20 voucher to spend in store.

My page

Here's how I created this page

The background was created by smooching Distress Oxides in several shades of Blue and Green. This was spritzed
several times and then dried before I got the look I wanted.

.
Next I stamped my girl, from Beautiful You, a stamp by Rubber Dance designed by me, stocked by Country View Crafts.
I tilted her slightly as I wanted to create the effect she was whooshing through the air.

I sprinkled Infusions in Royal Blood, and Olive from Paper Artsy to added more depth to the background .

Once it was all dry, I worked on the face and hair, keeping to colour combo and using Inktense Pencils I painted her
using  a watercolour effect. I also added some tiny flowers which also come in the set which I stamped in Chalk Fresco Acrylic by Paper Artsy

To finish using my white Gel Pen by Signo, (which is my absolute favourite) I added some dots. Then stamped my sentiment.

Sorry the colours change, it was different light once I'd finished.

Well that's it for today

How to paint onto Acrylic

Hello everyone, welcome to my second piece for this month's challenge over at Country View Crafts, which is Wings and Things. Today I'm sharing an acrylic Butterfly Stack with easy tips on painting on acrylic.

The stack - That's Crafty has 4 layers but I only used . Th last piece is Mdf board which I covered in Multi Matte Medium - 13Arts and Dutch Gold Leaf, which comes in sheet form. I've actually had this about 10 years. I put it away safe, and then forget where I've put it, I've done that three time to my knowledge. Lol. Anyway I know where it is now.

I left it quite crinkled as I liked the look but with smoothing you can get it crinkle free.
On one piece of acrylic I stamped the tiny flower from Beautiful You - Rubber Dance. I coloured it with the chalk pens from Jane Davenport.

Stamp one side then paint on the other, you can then see what bits you missed as above, I did go back and correct them but forgot to take another photo.

On the last piece of acrylic I stamped the large flower from Power Flower - Rubber Dance randomly over the shape.

I used Fresco Acrylic -Paper Artsy to paint the flowers again on the backside. Once dry I used the same Gell Medium on the pieces
To join them together. They do come with four screws and predrilled holes, but I want to use the top two to hang it and the bottom two I will add studs.

All the stamps used are from Rubber Dance designed by me, and you will soon be able to buy them from Country View Crafts.
Take care

Beautiful You and Stamps giveaway!

Hello everyone! Thank you for popping in, especially as today I'm announcing a give away to my followers, of all 4 sets of stamps. More of that later, for now, I have my 'Beautiful You' stamp designed for Rubber Dance on the blog, to which I think I'm a bit addicted. I've added some Infusions and used Chameleon Tone pens for face and hair.

You can all read about Rubber Dance here.

So this is what I did

I stamped the girl and added some more flowers, which I coloured in using the pens. This was the first time I've used them, and found them quite easy.  There are lots of videos on YouTube of how to you them so I won't go into it here.

I apologise about the lighting!

Above you can see where I added a tiny amount  of Infusions which I activated with a sparkle spray. Only use a tiny amount or you will swamp the image! I also added some more flowers.

Below I've used my trusty white Gell Pen, which writes on most things. Gets a bit sticky over wax, but can be achieved as the nib creates the dent into the wax and after being cleaned will write in the groove.

Lastly added my sentiment!
