A note set for Paper Artsy

Hello everyone, how are things where you are? It’s been cold and snowy here, which for many is a nuisance and obviously it can be dangerous, but also so very beautiful. I’m  fortunate to have moved into my new home and be able to enjoy a few days off from work to enjoy the spectacular views. Feeling very grateful!

Also with with gratitude in mind I’m sharing a little project that is on the Paper Artsy blog using some of Sara Naumann’s new stamps. I really loved this set of stamps, and new straight away what I wanted to create.

I am fascinated with writing sets, you know the kind? Folded card with a design on with a matching envelope all kept in a pretty box, well this project is my take on just that. I’ve brought it bang up to date using a journal style folding book which opens to reveal the cards and envelopes. It also has a ribbon closure which winds round to keep everything in place.

I used my favourite watercolours paints Gansai Tambi, by Kuretake, which are high pigmented gloss finish watercolours and come in some beautiful colours. I used a very simple technique of wet in wet, allowing the colours to mix and blend, finished off with a splash of gold. Theses backgrounds were perfect for Sara Stamps,  ESN, 23/24.

Here are some process shots and close ups

And there you have it!

I hope you like this set of cards and notelets and thanks for popping in.

Take care my crafty friends and I’ll see you all soon

Here are some close up but you can see more, and how I have decorated this little book on the blog.

I hope I have inspired you to enter the challenge as you could win a £50 voucher!
Good luck

Beautiful You and Stamps giveaway!

Hello everyone! Thank you for popping in, especially as today I'm announcing a give away to my followers, of all 4 sets of stamps. More of that later, for now, I have my 'Beautiful You' stamp designed for Rubber Dance on the blog, to which I think I'm a bit addicted. I've added some Infusions and used Chameleon Tone pens for face and hair.

You can all read about Rubber Dance here.

So this is what I did

I stamped the girl and added some more flowers, which I coloured in using the pens. This was the first time I've used them, and found them quite easy.  There are lots of videos on YouTube of how to you them so I won't go into it here.

I apologise about the lighting!

Above you can see where I added a tiny amount  of Infusions which I activated with a sparkle spray. Only use a tiny amount or you will swamp the image! I also added some more flowers.

Below I've used my trusty white Gell Pen, which writes on most things. Gets a bit sticky over wax, but can be achieved as the nib creates the dent into the wax and after being cleaned will write in the groove.

Lastly added my sentiment!

Products
Stamps: Rubber Dance Beautiful You
Sparkle Spray That's Crafty
Infusions: Paper Artsy
Pens: Chameleon Tones
White Pen: Signo Gell Pen

Here are my other sets:

You can order these stamps direct from Rubber Dance, or From July you will be able to order them from Country View Crafts

So for the give away, please make sure you are a follower and leave a comment choosing your fave set. You have two weeks to choose, and the winners will be picked by random.org on the 8th July. This will also be on Facebook so if you would like to comment on there too, you get an extra entry 😊.

Take care my Dears

Lost in Flowers

What's going On?

Hello everyone, firstly apologies, I'm confused as to why my post did not save the content of what was written, it seems to be happening on my schedule posts but I don't know why. Be assured I'm looking into! So over to what you should have seen on the 1st of May, remember today is the 5th and so the challenge has started and there is even more inspiration on the blog.

Hello friends and followers, today starts the new the Challenge over at Country View Crafts chosen for us by the lovely Monika and the theme is Flower Power. How appropriate for Spring, with all the new life appearing in a palette made by nature. Not forgetting of course how powerful flowers really are, with their abundance of colour, their scent, which is used in so many ways, their use in culinary delights and their healing properties of mind and body. They truely are powerful!

Enter your art inspired by the theme and you could win a £20 voucher to spend in the wonderfully stocked shop

I chose to make a large tag

Here how it came together

I created a fine crackle using Crackle Glaze painted white on top with Fresco Acrylic Paint in Chalk from Paper Artsy. The a layer of spray dyes  from

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and feeling peaceful. Now I've settled after my leap up North, I'm feeling very peaceful, I'm enjoying the quiet at home, and the buzz at work. Anyway I'm here to let you know that I'm over at Paper Artsy tonight with a small wall hanging. Here's a peep, but I'd love it if you went and had a look and left me some love.

Hope you like it!

Something playful

Hello everyone I do hope you are all okay. It's been a while since my last blog due to the big move up North. I have relocated from Essex up to Cumbria, new job and home. Just need my lovely husband to join me (once he gets a job) and our dream is complete, although much earlier than we anticipated.

Anyway onto a quick play I had the other evening! It took me over a week to get the craft room sorted, but whilst packing I made myself a an emergency bag of craft stuff as I knew it would take a while to get straight. In all honesty I haven't had the energy or motivation to do much crafting but hope now I'm straight and settled in that my creativity will return. So here it is!

I didn't take any process shots as I was in the moment and enjoying myself, but I'll walk you through the stages!

The background was Infusions by Paper Artsy which I sprinkled onto the page and spritzed with lots of water, I then used a wooden stirrer from a coffee shop to spread the colour around the page.

Next I stamped the feature again from Paper Artsy Wings Plate 1 and then I used one of the lovely Emma Godfrey's new Stencils which were released this week. Here's a link to the blog where you can see all the stamps and Stencils in this release.

You can see that I added some shapes of my own which I painted with Inktense pencils from Dewent.

Hope you like my page!
Take care for now

Acrylic tag 30 mins

Hello everyone, today I have my second inspiration for the 30 min challenge over at Country View Crafts chosen for us by the Lovely Sue. I haven't plaid on acrylic for a while so thought I'd use a tag.

I started on what is the backside of the tag using Seth Apter's Stencils and Fresco Acrylic Paints he designed for Paper Artsy. I mixed the colours up and layered them on.

I cut some of Seth's dies to put on the front of the tag, this added to the layers. I looped some of the circles as I loved how they connected and how they move the eyes down the tag.

Lastly I added some washy tape and silver beads to finish. The butterfly is a recycled one whose wings sparkle because of the silver embossing powder I added.

Last look

I hope you have been inspired to join in with the challenge!

I hope you can pop back tomorrow as the winners will be announced, and the two lucky people will have a set of my stamps winging their way to them.

Take care

Masterboard

Hello everyone, today I'm over at Country View Crafts where I showed a Masterboard and what I made from it, all which can be seen below.

Do you ever create Masterboards? They are so handy to have a ready background to use for your crafty makes as I show here on this post. I think I first came across Masterboards on the Paper Artsy blog when Jo Firth Young showed how to make with her lovely stamps.

I didnt use feature stamps on my mine but you could quite easily, instead I used a few background stamps Here's how I created mine!

I keep my Fresco Acrylic Paints by Paper Artsy in the middle draw of a plastic set of 3, and for this project I challenge myself by just reaching in and pulling out 4 colours at Random and this is what I got!

Quite a nice mix I thought!

I applied the colours in no particular order using a small brayer. I wanted a grungy look and was pleased how this came out.

I added some script and texture stamps again randomly over the page which was a 12x12 heavyweight card stock. Although I liked this, I wanted to warm it up a bit and so chose Tikka Fresco Acrylic and a bottle top stamped randomly adding the colour.

I do apologise for the blurry photo but wanted to show some of what I cut from the 1 sheet. I actually managed to get 2
card backgrounds a Tag, a book mark and 4 ATCs not bad! The strips that I cut off will also come in handy to use in collage pieces.

Here are some of the projects I made which you can see in the main photo at the top!

See how versatile they can be!
Hope you liked seeing how to make this if you have any questions please leave in the comments.

Paper Artsy - Fresco Acrylic Paint, stamps used  ELB 29, 30.

Take care everyone and stay Creative
