Her clothes are created following a tutorial by Cristy Tomlinson in her She Art class. The paint is a mix of Media Fluids and Media Line. The crackle paste is DecoArt.
There is no tutorial but I've include some close ups.

Take care and I'll see you soon

Feeling Blue with TIO

Hello everyone. Happy Friday from me to all you peeps in crafty land. Thank you for popping in, so I can show you my Tag I created for the theme at Dragons Dreaming challenge which is blue and words.

I painted my tag with Bora Bora Fresco acrylics from Paper Artsy and when dry coated it in crackle glaze. I mixed together snowflake and Blue Oyster to make a very pale blue.

Little tip! Keep your empty bottles to use with mixed colours. I've got one that I'm going to use for a flesh colour Im going to mixed. Frescos are great for painting faces with but I needed a slightly different shade than is available. I'll show the colour once I do it.

I coated the glaze with the blue and while it was drying I made my flowers.

I took a 12x12 sheet of tissue paper from PA and painted it in 3 shades of blue, Smurf, Sky and and Glass Blue

Once  these were dry I folded the paper to the colours and then folded it in 3.

There was a small amount left which I cut off. I then stamped my flowers from JOFY 32 I then cut them out. I stamped the butterfly on the remaining paper which gave me 3 layers.

I assembled the flowers and butterfly.

The flowers were very full and could be easily moved into shape. I then stamped on the tag again using Jo's stamps. I assembled my tag and added my sentiment.

Some close ups

I enjoyed making these flowers and hope you like my Tag.

See you soon Take care Debs xx

Another mixed Media Girl

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by. I'm showing you another girl created in the same way as yesterday's only using different Paint.

I'm going to enter this into

Craft Stamper challenge              Colour

So above you can the collage papers which I sprayed with lyndy's stamp gang sprays in a baby pink and blue. I also added some blue and pink from these lovely paints which I got from Thats Crafty

Next I added some crackle paste randomly over the page.

I've added some more blue from these again from That's Crafty.

Next back to the Dylusions and a stencil from crafter works. Used more paint this time and boy do the colours zing lol.

I added a tree which I painted black and when dry, rubbed with a sanding block. I then used DecoArt lustre in black to highlight the crackle

I then drew in my girl and used both paints for her clothes etc.

And the whole thing. I'm naming this one Flora  picked for me by my friend, the lovely Mo from So much to learn.

Had fun with and really enjoyed the paints both sets.

See you soon big hugs Debs xx

Mixed Media Canvas

Hello everyone thanks for taking the time to visit, I know how difficult it is to get to everyone and make time to craft so if I hadn't visited for a while, I'll be back soon.

I can't believe I've reached 70 followers! So thank you to every one of you, and as a little thank you, any one interested in a little gift, leave me a comment and I'll draw a name next Sunday.

Now onto my canvas, which is very colourful and so I'm entering it into Craft Stamper Make it Take it challenge.  All paints and glue are from DecoArt

I completed covered the canvas in papers using DecouPage

I used a doily and a dot stencil with Colbolt Turquiose Transluscent White Media Fluids and Magenta Media Mist to build up layers on the canvas.

Using JOFY stamps from Paper Artsy and the same paint, I continued to add layers. Keeping to the same colours helps it all to blend. Just remember to wash your stamps immediately to prevent damage.

I drew my girl in pencil and added black acrylic ink for her hair. Her clothes are Hansa yellow Media fluid. Once the painting was finished she was outlined with a Fude pen in black.

Lol! just laughing to myself,  as I'm writing this in my shed and there is a bird on the roof which sounds like it's moving to my music. It's a groovy bird :).

Back to the canvas

I painted the flowers with Americana Acrylic in Red Violet. The leaves I painted with black and the words are from Tim Holtz.

Think I'm going to start naming my girls and so I'd like to introduce Lucy.

Well that's all for now, but pop back soon

She Art

Hello everyone, thank you for popping in. The weekend is nearly over and Monday is on his Way. I cannot believe how quick the weekend flies by. I haven't felt like doing much this weekend, sofa surfed for most of it, snuggled with husband which has been nice. I did however spend some time this afternoon playing in my journal.

I'm very influenced by artists such as Cristy Tomlinson and Kelly Rae Roberts. I love their whimsy style especially She Art. I have signed up for one of Cristy's online She Art courses and hope to start next week. For now, here is my take on those lovely girls.

Would love to know what you think.

Take care now and I'll see you soon.

A girl

Hello everyone, another quickly today to share a journal page using Decoart Media fluids.

I sketched her out and added some shading.

I added the background which is brayered and dry brushed.  I defined her face and eyes with a Stabilo All pencil. I wished I left her face like this.

Because when I activated the pencil it got too messy for the look I wanted. I still like her but for this page I wanted a more gentle look.

I continued to work on the background and finish off her clothes. I added glue to her wings and coveted them with guilding flakes.

I added some journaling and then finished the page with some circles which I made with a bottle top and paint. One the circles were dry I filled them in with a wash of the same colour and then added the highlights using white paint and half the bottle top.

Hope you like her.  See you soon Debs xxx

Tile it

Hello everyone, thanks for your visit today. This is just a quick post to show you my little tile coaster.

As many of you may be aware I am part of the Decoart helping artists programme, which is dedicated to help aspiring artists. They give lots of support with products and I was fortunate to receive some Bisque tiles and tea light holders which I will be decorating over the next few months.

I don't have a tutorial for you but will talk you through.

I prepared my tile with a coat of sealer then covered it with a pretty tissue which when dry was painted on in Turquoise Media Fluid here and there to add some interest.

I then resized a face I had drawn and printed it out to added to the tile.

I then used a little rose stamp I had calved around her hair and once the ink was dry I used a little Quinacridone Magenta Media Fluid to give the flowers colour.

I then sealed it again with several coats of Matt Vanish.

I love how it turned out and hope you do too.

Bihg Hugs and see you all soon

I demoed

Hello everyone, on Sunday I demoed at the Paper Artsy stand at Ally Pally. It was my first time visiting The Palace and my first time demoing. And who was next to me? The love Darcy! No pressure then ...  You can see what Darcy wrote here

Well I started making my first journal page but I kept stopping chatting to the customers lol. Everyone was so friendly and I loved chatting to them about the paints and how I was building layers. So here is my first page

I love this new plate from JOFY especially the dangles :)

I started on my second plate and just managed to get my background completed before the lovely Butterfly - Alison Bomber Came to take over. Meet Alison here

I just managed to get the area for the face painted and then packed up. This morning I decided to finish it off.

I really enjoyed the experience and would like to say thank you to Leandra for asking me, and to Darcy for being so supportive.

Thanks for popping by and hope to see you again soon. Big hugs

Grunge

Morning everyone, thanks for your visit today. It feels like a lovely morning out there with the sun pouring in through the gaps in the curtain. Yes you've guessed right I'm still in bed lol.

Today I'm sharing a tag I created with 'Thats Crafty' challenge theme in mind which is Grunge Grunge Grunge. Now, those that know me know I like a bit of grunge so this is a perfect challenge for me.

All products used are from DecoArt, who have a fabulous range for all you mixed Media fans.

So first I took the tag and painted it in Cadium red I added some resist of Vaseline in areas and then painted it with crackle paint. Once dry I rubbed back the areas and added some Antiquing Cream in burnt Umber then tickled the tag with some turquoise blue and added some stamping from from a plate by Emma Godfrey for Paper Artsy.

I took a die cut circle and gave it a rust look cut it in half and added it to the tag.

I took a butterfly and using crackle paste through a stencil added the texture. I painted the wings in a mix of blues and greens with a touch of burnt Umber.

I also rusted up some elements for my tag. Above you can see a heart I cut out of foam board which again was treated the same way as the wings.

I then added all my bits to the tag. Here are some close up of all the bit.

And the whole thing. If you have any questions please leave them in the comments and I will try to answer them. Take care for now and I'll see you soon.
