New challenge at That's Crafty

Hello every thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you spending time here and hope you enjoy the post. It time for another new Challenge at That's Crafty, and this fortnight the Theme is Girls will be Girls. There is loads of inspiration from my teamies so if you have the time pop over and have a look. One lucky crafter will win a £20 Voucher to spend in the lovely shop.

Here is my inspiration for the challenge, I was tempted to draw a face or have several girls on my page but that wasn't working for me so I went for a gift. Well you know us girls can never have enough gifts can we, and as my gift is a handmade piece if jewellery all the better.

So here it is

I made the bracelet a while back and so thought I'd create a nice box to present it in. To present the bracelet I also decorated the 2x2 wooden block.

This is what I did.

I used Crackle Glaze on the box and then painted it with Terea Green and Granny Smith Fresco Acrylic Paint, all from Paper Artsy.

Once dry I added some Captain Peacock all over the box blending it with the green.

Next I took the wooden block and gave it two coats of Nougat Fresco Acrylic and stamped it with script with Archival Ink in Coffee.

I also added some stencilling using Dinky Stencils from That's Crafty and more Archival ink.

I used a damask Stencil from Prima and grunge Paste on the lid and once fry I sanded it with a sanding block and coated it in treasure Gold White Fire.

I finished the box by rubbing the Treasure Gold around the edges which aged the box nicely.
Here are some more photos.

Looking forward to seeing what you make. Take care Hugs Debs xxx

Faerie garden

Hello everyone nice to see you, and thanks for popping by. I'm sharing a journal page which I created using real materials and a bit of digital tweaking. I've been doing a class which mixes both real and digital to get some wonderful effects.

I kept the manipulation to a minimum; I used it more for correcting mistakes and I darkened it a little too.

Here is the finished page after manipulation

And here is the one without any. I'm going to enter this one into the Stamps and Stencils Blog Challenge whose theme is Up Up and Away with a twist which is use Autumn Colours.

I think I prefer the original, but that's the beauty of digital I can go back in and change it all again. The app I used is Procreate.

There is no tutorial today, however there is what I used and some photos of the process.
I used Blue and a titchy bit of Green, Neutral and Red Bister Powder. You can purchase these from Paper Artsy. I also used Lyndy's Spray in Blue Azure and Cremè Brûlée. Sequin waste as a stencil, Snowflake Fresco Acrylic Paint from Paper Artsy as well as a white Signo Gel Pen.

If I have inspired you to have go, you can use Brushos just as easily, then why not visit the Challenge at Paper Artsy whose them is Pigment Powders.

Take care all, and I'll see you tomorrow over at That's Crafty as its my turn to share a creative project.

Bistre flower garden

Hello everyone, thank you for popping in, it's lovely that you come and visit me, I really do appreciate it.
I'm sharing a journal page which I started a long while a go. I ended up throwing it in a corner, metaphorically, as I couldn't actually throw it, as it was in a journal that I'm using a lot.

I was inspired to alter this page using Bisters by the Theme over At Paper Artsy which is Pigments  Powders and I will be entering the challenge. I will also be entering the challenge at Anything But Cute where the Theme is Makeover

                                                          This is the finished one

And here is where I started
I really didn't like the page, everything was wrong.

So out come the Bisters and Lyndy's sprays. I used Blue, Yellow and Neutral Bister powders and activated them with Cremè Brûlée Spray. I first saw this at Alley Pally, when Leandra from Paper Artsy    Showed me.   I swished the colours around, and then dried the page. I added a few spots of Yellow Media Mist. The original stamps are from JOFY 13 & 14 and Stencil is JOFY 10.

Using a White Signo gel pen I outlined the flowers and stems.

I  stamped some more stems with white ink and a stamp from Lin Brown plate 23

Using a script stamp and white ink I stamped around here and there and finished with a butterfly from Finnabair which I heat embossed with white powder.

I love how it came out, hope you do to. See you soon hugs Debs xx

There's still time to play

Hello everyone, welcome to my second post for Country View Crafts whose theme this month is Numbers. There had been some fabulous inspiration on the blog over the month from my team mates, well worth a visit.

For my second project I decided to make a 21st birthday card for my nephew. I cannot believe he's 21 the years are going so fast.

The finished card

Using Fresco Acrylic paints from Paper Artsy and a brayer I started to build my layers onto a 8x8" card.

More layers of paint and stencils. I cut the page into 4 to give me 4x4" panels.

I photocopied the square I chose to use for the card and printed it out 6x6.

It was cut down and matted onto a white blank card

The second layer was adhered using diamentional tape and the numbers were stamped onto white card, cut up and placed onto to the card.

Thanks for visiting today and I'll see you soon. Take care Hugs Debs xx

What a fabulous day

Hello everyone, this is just a quick post to show some of the demo samples I made today at Alley Palley for Paper Arsty.

For a full run down please visit my mate Helen's blog as she has written two fabulous post covering both days of the show.

The samples I made before the show I have been giving sneak peeks of and here are the full pictures

And what I made today

I had prepared my page with squiggles of Tar Gel and leaves of Bead Gel in advance so that both were perfectly dry. The hearts and and diamonds I had also prepared last night, using Fibre Gel through a stencils onto my craft mat. This morning I peeled the off to take to the show where I used them on my page and a tag below.

I used Bistres on these pages and tags, well I had to didn't I? Lol.

I love how it all just works so perfectly together.

I had a fabulous time despite my nerves. The lovely Alison Hall caught that happiness in these photos.

Well that's it for now, see you soon, Hugs Debs xx

Fridays Face

Hello everyone and Welcome. Here is my face for this weeks Art It Friday Show your Face. The very talented Kim Dellow's has a regular post on her blog whereby each Friday she invites us to link our faces to her blog. It is great fun to see everyone's art and has widened my creative community.

So here she is. I was thinking about faeries earlier and I think that has influenced my drawing. It is also inspired by the new theme over at Paper Artsy's blog which is pigment powders.

I initially sprinkled a few Brusho Crystals on the page and spritzed with water. I let it run a little and then dried it with a heat gun. I wasn't clear where it was going until I remembered it was Friday and I hadn't done a face. I sketched her over the the brusho...

You can the rest on the photo video. I also used a black Stabilo All pencil.

Im also linking lthis to Paint Part Friday

I am very late linking her as I have been asleep for a lot of the day
Take care all and have a fab weekend

Fly Hi with a twist

Hello everyone and welcome to what is probably my last post from Turkey. I have had a wonderful time recharging my batteries but it's time to come home. I will miss the pool though as being able to have a swim whenever I felt like it was bliss.

Today I'm sharing a little page I made for the Challenge over at Stamps and Stencils. The Theme is Up Up and Away with a Twist. Mine today features butterflies. I do have a love of butterflies and faeries and they quite often feature in my art.

Today's offering is A5 in size and uses Caran D'Ache Neocolor ll crayons which are water soluble, Dewent Intense Pencils Stabilo All pencils in Black and White also all soluble, Fude Pen and a White Signo gel Pen. My stencils are Dinkys from That's Crafty.

I must admit that while I was first creating this I forgot about the twist and got carried away with pinks and blues, but I think I brought it back in line.

Here are some process shots

And a last look at the whole thing.

Here is a little something I created yesterday in honour of my visit to Turkey it's a Tulip and can be seen here in lots of the crockery, ceramic tiles etc. Mine is a very simple form but they are very elaborate here in Turkey.

So goodbye from me and goodbye from Turkey, see you all soon from the good ole UK. Take care Hugs

New Challenge at Mixed Media World

Hello everyone and welcome. Thank you for stopping by today, I do appreciate your visits. I'm sharing my inspiration for the new challenge at MMW which the lovely Laine chose for us, which is

Anything Goes with Autumn Colours.

It's a mixed media challenge so get out all your crafting stuff and have a go. There are some amazing inspirations on the blog from my teamies so pop over and take a look. Hopefully we will inspire you you to play along and you could be in with a chance to win a prize from our sponsor this month which is.

My journal page started life as an autumn page but as I started spraying my background I thought

why not give it a bit of a twist. I used the colour palette of autumn but chose to go in a different

direction. So here it is.

And this is how I did it

Started by spraying my page with Media Mist from DecoArt in Yellow, Red Orange and Pink.

I let it dribble down the page.

Next came stencils from Andy Skinner by DecoArt ( That's Crafty have a fab supply of DecoArt Products ) using Little Black Dress from Paper Artsy

I stamped and cut out the pumpkins Hp Hallowean 03 from Paper Artsy as well as die cut the butterfly from Tim Holtz. I played around where I wanted them to be before preparing them to stick on.

The pumpkins I painted with Fresco Acrylic Paint in Haystack and Autumn Fire and the butterfly in Haystack once it dry I coated it in Burnt Umber Antiquing Cream which darkened it slightly and then clear embossed it.

I also used some words stamps from Emma Godfreys new stamp plate From Paper Artsy

So you have a month to play along, have fun!

Take Care Debs xxx
