Hi everyone welcome to The Christmas challenge at Country View Crafts. As always there is a chance to win a voucher to spend in store, but don’t forget to follow the guidelines with your entry as if you forget you will not be entered. There are some fabulous makes from the team to further inspire you which you can see here I have a vintage card for you for my first inspiration using Oxides on the background and die cuts for my focal point.
So let’s start with the background
I cut water coloured card to fit just over 3/4 of the card for 1 piece, and then another piece to the remaining of the card with a slight gap. I used a mixed of Old Paper, Forest Moss and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxides smooched all over, flicked with water and then dried. I repeated this several times
Until I was happy with the mottled affect. I then completely dried it.
I then edged the card with baked texture
I cut several items from Winter Foliage
Then I painted them using Sennelier watercolour paints, as if I were actually painting. For example, added my colour and then blended out the
colour with clean water. I mixed a light green for the edge of the holly with lemon yellow and French Ultramarine and then a dark green substituting the lemon yellow with sennelier yellow deep.
For the berry’s I mixed sennelier Red Deep and Rose Madder Lake into a nice deep colour and then separated into two puddles, one I made a little darker for the shadow. I was mindful of leaving my highlight.
I love how it all came together, and hope you like it too.
See you later in the month
Hugs xx
