...and it’s goodbye for now!

Hello everyone, today I’m sharing my last post this time round as a guest designer for Chocolate Baroque,
but I will be back later in the year. For this post I made a tag which you can see below, but before I go
You can see more of my designs soon, so watch this space for some news of when and where.

I used a size 8# greyboard Tag from Tando, Creative, and gave it a coat of paint using the Green (Muted Teal) from the Little Birdie Chalk Paint and Crackle Kit and dried it with a heat gun.

I stamped my main focal point from Tranquility and then repeated the stamp onto masking Tissue, cut around the design and then stuck it over the image on the tag. I then repeated this with the flowers, once both images were masked, using Big Bold Background Belle Flowers and Veramark I stamped over the masked areas, then sprinkled with a glitter embossing powder and heated it to melt the powder. I now removed the tissue to reveal the stamped images below.

Using watercolour paints by Koh-I-Noor I painted first the background flowers, then the main images. Once the first layers were dry I added more pigment, varying the value in this way adds depth to your images. My sentiment is from Punky Expressions.

Here are a few snaps of the different stages

Hope you like it
Take care

Another post for Chocolate Baroque

Hello everyone today I am sharing my second piece for Chocolate Baroque and this time
It’s a journal page

Here’s what I did

I blended  the colours from the Chalk Paint and Crackle set onto my background and once dry

Lightly stamped with green Archival ink Big Bold Background leafy stamp

I painted the leaves in a very light green, then I moved the stamp round and repeated it with black, again I painted the leaves but this
Time in darker greens. I used Watercolour paints from Koh-I- Nor

I added the fairies and butterflies from May Fairy, I chose these as they faced myfocal stamp, which I stamped and
Fussy cut out.

I also started to build a border in black. It needed several coats to achieve the
End result.

The focal images are from March Fairy

I hope you like my page, and I’ll see see you next week for my final piece

Words words words

Hello everyone today I share my second inspiration for this months challenge over at Country View Crafts whose theme is Words.

And this is how I created it

Stamp you main focal areas, and then mask the area. I used masking tissue.
Smooch Distress Oxides onto your surface, (I started in my journal, but ended up removing the page and
Turned it into a card), and spritz with water.

The stamp I used is Hydrangea from Rubber Dance (one which I designed)

Dry your page thoroughly and then with a word stamp or your chosen words, (mine is from another stamp set designed by me for a Rubber Dance
Called Joy in a Jar) and versamark stamp all over your background. I chose to change the direction each time. Try not to overlap, then sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat until it melts.

Remove the tissue paper and colour your flowers, I used Artist Pitt Pens. I chose to add a very dark blue to the negative space between the petals which creates a great contrast of colour. Once dry I added white highlights.

To finish, I typed the words (slightly larger than the stamp onto white card, cut them out and adhered them with glue.

Hope you are inspired to play along as you could be the lucky winner and receive £20 to spend in the fabulous store.

Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon

Tutorial for Tuesday on Rubber Dance

Hello everyone today I’m over on the Rubber Dance blog with a retro tag using the brand new stamps I designed Joy in a Jar.

Why not pop over and see how I created the little mason jar full of colourful flowers

The tag’s background crackle was created by first painting tag blue, then adding the crackle medium and once dry the last coat is a gorgeous cream, all by Chocolate Baroque.

Take care

Surprise! I have something for Chocolate Baroque

Hello everyone, today I’m very proud to announce that I’m have joined Chocolate Baroque as a guest designer and for my first make have produced this wall board using some of their wonderful stamps.

So I started with a crackle background using Weathered Wood and a White Acrylic, both from DecoArt. Next I stamped some flowers onto the background and using Artist Pitt Pens gave them some colour.

I stamped my focal features onto white card and once dried painted them with Watercolour paints. I then cut them out and placed them onto the board sticking them in place. Using the Pitt Pen again I edged the features to give them some depth. To finish I edged the board with gold to give it an opulent look which matched the wonderful stamps.

Here are some close ups.

I had great fun with these stamps and I hope you enjoyed reading this post.

Take care everyone

All about words for Country View Crafts

Hello everyone, it’s that time again when a new challenge starts over at Country View Crafts and this month’s theme is ‘words’. As all ways there will be one winner picked at random who will receive a £20 voucher to spend in the shop.

Here’s what I created to get your muse thinking and of course there are loads more wonderful creations over on the blog!

So I started with Distress Oxides smooched all over the Tag

I built up several layers of colour followed by spritzing with water, drying, more layers of colour

Stamps I used were from Tim Holtz, I used them as word trees but of course they could also be used as sentiments

I punched 3 holes along the bottom and attached rivets to compliment the tag colours
I also mounted the tag onto sparkly card for more interest.

The sentiment is also from Tim Holtz.

To finish I added some string through each hole and tied it round a bunch of trims (I love the colours and different textures of these) and for the top I added some sari ribbon.

I hope we have inspired you to play along and cannot wait to see what you create
