Challenge reminder for Country View Crafts

Hi everyone, Im here with my inspiration for this months theme over at County View Craft .  There are still a few days left to this month’s challenge, so come on let’s see your funny side.

I was challenged by this theme, but had great fun creating this journal page

So I started with my background, lots of Fluid Media Acrylic by DecoArt brayered onto my page, and then
with a wet wipe and a stencil I took some of the colour out.

Next I used white acrylic to dilute the green and give me a more neutral surface to add my elements

I added some stamping direct to the page, but some I stamped onto watercolour card stock

I cut them out and painted them with watercolour pens -Aqua Flow by Nuvo from Tonic Studio

For the grapes and leaves I used my Artist Pitt Pens.

Let’s have another look!

Take care everyone

Blog hop for Mixed up Mag

Hello everyone
I hope you are enjoying meeting the Mixed Up Design Team! Welcome to my blog.
As you know, each of us is sharing our favourite makes for Mixed Up today, and the project I’ve chosen to share with you is this piece I painted with Brushos. I chose this piece as I just love to paint and every now and again inspiration flows and this was one of those times. Messing with colour is one of my favourite things to do and when it flows I find it most satisfying.

I’m also showing a sneak peek of something else I’ve got coming up soon! As with the above you will get full step by step instructions on how to create your own simple painting that you can be proud of.

The Mixed Up website has tons of mixed media projects, including these and many more! If you want to know more pop on over to the mag

Make sure you visit everyone’s blog and leave a comment to be in with a chance of winning:

Something simple for Rubber Dance

Hello everyone, happy Sunday! Today I have a quick and simple card to share with you, that I created for the Rubber Dance blog.

Here’s how I created it
Choose a flower stamp (I chose this from Flower Power), and stamp in a line diagonally down a piece of card which you have
cut to fit your card.

Carefully cut around just one side of your flowers

Use your favourite colour to act as a mat for your card and attach. Using Alcohol inks, mine were Nuvo from Tonic Studio (which I am loving by the way, a really good set of pens which won’t break the bank) and colour your flowers. Once dry attach to your mat.

TOP TIP!
Once you have finished your colouring in, with a very black pen carefully add a line to white area between flowers
where you have cut,  as above. It gives a more finished look to the cut area.

Lastly add you sentiment mounted onto more coloured card and using dimensional tape fix to your card.
Let’s have a last look

Supplies

Stamps - Rubber Dance:
               Flower Power
               Beautiful You
               Think Again
Alcohol Inks - Tonic Studio
                Nuvo

Black Ink - Tsukineko
                Stazon

And just a reminder, you can get free shipping from Rubber Dance when you spend over €15 with this code DWFreeShip

Take care everyone and I’ll see you soon, well tomorrow actually with something exciting! So don’t forget to pop back.

Another journal page

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and enjoying spring if you are in the UK and wherever you are that you are peaceful and happy. Today I have another journal page for you, so sit back and relax while I take you through my process. It’s very similar to my last post if you missed it you can find here.

Lots of collage papers knocked back with Fresco chalk acrylic paint from Paper Artsy.

Elements on the background include Distress Crayons, Aqua Flow Pens for the stamping which is Vintage Script from Rubber Dance.

The gold in the corners is Corners no1 from ArtZone And the girl is painted with Media Fluids from DecoArt.

Using Acrylic ink in Burnt Umber and my dip pen I outlined the leaves from the stencil. More butterflies from the Crafter’s Companion papers and then to finish a die cut and textured butterfly from Tim Holtz.

A last look at the whole page.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you all soon.

It’s been a while but I’m back

Hello everyone, I’ve been missing for a while from blog land due to a recent family bereavement. I’m sure you can imagine the impact of this on our family and will forgive my absence. It’s taken a while for me to get back into creating but I’m getting there.
So here is a journal page I created in my all new studio (you may remember I’ve just moved) which I’m learning to love. It’s still not completely sorted as I keep moving things around, which I guess I will do until I have everything where it feels right for it to be. I do love the afternoon sun though that floods in the big window and onto my desk. Yes my desk has moved, but it now feels right.

Here it is

So I started with lots of collage papers randomly stuck on the page with Modge Podge

I then used acrylic paint to knock back the paper and provide a tooth for the Distress Crayon and Scribble Sticks I used to add colour and visual texture

While in Yorkshire recently in a garden centre I picked up a pad of designer paper
from Crafter’s Companion which had these lovely butterflies. So I cut them out and stuck them on as my focal point.

For more interest I added washi tape from Tim Holtz - Ranger and the sentiment is stickers from Marta Łapkowska- 13@rts

A close up

A simple journal page with lots of visual texture, I hope you like it
