Julie Ann inspired

Hello everyone, I hope you all have had a great weekend and enjoyed lots of crafty time. I've been away most of the weekend and not had time to craft except that tonight I got home a little earlier and while having a bath checked out the Paper Artsy blog site to see who was the guest designer and OMG it was the lovely Julie Ann with an exquisite project which you can see here. Well I just had to play...

I didn't have a mask but Julie Ann mentioned you could use something like a flower so that is what I thought I would do. Now I'd grab a coffee coz this post is a little photo heavy because I wanted to show the steps.

I started by cutting the large tattered floral from sizzix which is huge. I used some paper from the tilda country escape range by Tone finnanger - I love tone's range and her dolls and angels are fab.

Anyway here are the cut outs

These are the colours I used

I wanted to keep the colours translucent so that the pattern on the paper showed through. On the yellow parts I added some claret the edges to make them look more dramatic.

I assembled the flower and the sprayed it with vanish to that the UTEE would stick then heated it once it became sticky I added some more UTEE

I loved the way it looks like water droplets where I let it puddle slightly.

I then covered my canvass in haystack, once it was dry I spritz it with water and added some brusho in lemon and yellow

I then added the flowers. I made the leaves in the same way using these colours

I added some veins to leave and then using versamark added the utee. I applied the flower and most of the leave to the canvas using doublsided foam tape to give it some lift.

I then added a word and butterfly

...and here it is hanging on my wall

Thank you for taking the time look at this and I'd live to read your comments
