I've stuck with the skeleton theme, but this time it's a Shrine with Ghostly Ghouls, and Creatures of the Night, to spook you all. Boo!
So here's what I did!
I assembled a large Niche-Paper Artsy and applied Crackle Paste-DecoArt through a stencil to cover it all. I first painted it purple and once dry, sprayed it with Black Media Spray- DecoArt. Once it was completely dry I also sprayed a few drips of red. Inside I wanted to use the skull stencil from Andy Skinner but as it is an 8x8 I decided to cut it out. I can still stick it together if I want to use it whole. I do this a lot, to make to tools work for me. I do it to stamps too. I used it with crackle paste and once dry I painted it pale green one side to give it a glow.I stamped and cut out the skeletons- Tim Holtz and stuck them in place. I also added some silver angel hair inside as well as in the Draw. I wanted it to reflect the light when I used a candle! However only use a battery candle, as impatient me, who didn't have any, used a real one and nearly set it on fire!
Lastly I drew and cut out a ghoul to sit in the draw
And here it is again with the candle
Hope you are not too spooked!
Take care and I'll see you all soon

I used the same colour to stamp the leafy twigs from Lin Brown's new stamp plate ELB30, faintly all over the area as well as a little script here and there. I wanted to keep the background subtle to allow the features to shine. Once completely dry and using the same stamp in mahogany I stamped twice, to bulk the stalks out a little and a third time with black Archival Ink to give some definition.
Now the next part didn't really go as well as I hoped! First with Versamark I stamped the leaves from Lin's Other new plate ELB29 and then applied the flakes from indigoBlu, (sorry cannot remember which one) quite unsuccessfully! They did not want to stick. Next with a black pen I outlined the leaves roughly. It was quite difficult to make out! I then used a liquid glue spread carefully on each leaf and again applied the flakes. This time they stuck but were untidy, so using Ranger's enamel accents in black, I edged the leaves.
To finish I wrapped the plaque in garden twine to add to the rustic look I wanted to create, as Autumn has that feel to me. It's not just the beautiful colours but the time when the foliage is dropping and it all looks a bit wild! As I'm writing, I'm reminded of this stanza from Emily Dickinson's poem Nature!
The leaves unhooked themselves from trees
And started all abroad;
The dust did scoop itself like hands
And throw away the road.
And here's another view
That's all folks!
Until next time, take care and stay creative!

Morning everyone, I have project to share today that I have worked on in stages. I do hope you like it!
Let's start with the heart
Apply a thick layer of craft paste and stamp into randomly (I used a hand carved stamp). Dry with heat tool and then paint a thick layer of crackle paint, let this dry naturally. I used DecoArt for both the paste and paint. For the colour I used Shimmerz Paints from the tonez range Ocean earth and Celestial. I only used the Sprays on this heart but the tonez range are sets of coordinating colours which include the Sprays and paints. You can see more of these paints here
