Figures!

Good morning everyone, today starts a new challenge at That's Crafty's challenge blog, and the theme is Go Figure. As always, there  are some wonderful creations by my teammates which you can see here.

And if you are a lucky winner you will receive £20 to spend in the shop

For my piece I created a journal page.
I started by using three numbers stencils and heavy bodied Acrylic paint in yellow and deep ink, on a journal page which had been used to mop up.

On top of this I used anther stencil and very dark blue paint to form the focal point. I love stencils like this, as you can use them as they are or use bits of them to buil up layers.

You can see below how I fitted more numbers into the centre, just for fun!

So, I hope we have inspired you to have a go. You have two whole weeks and with this weekend having 3 days that
Gives you plenty of time to play.

Materials I used
Dina Wakley from Ranger, Media Heavy bodied paint
Andy Skinner for DecoArt stencils - sun burst, Industrial Elements, French Elements and Made to Measure

New Challenge

Morning everyone, I feel like the white rabbit this morning, running late! A New challenge started on Sunday at Mixed Media World and the theme is Cogs chosen for us by the very talented Georgie. This month we are sponsored by GlitzCraft so you could win a £15 voucher to spend in their shop. There are some fab makes from my teamies so go check them out if you have the time.

I couldn't do a cogs project without using rust could I? Or crackle?

Layered up MDF tags, one crackle, one rusty

Rusted up my cogs, sprayed my torn doily and stuck in place

Added my hearts and glass bellie

The fibres were added for contrasting colours.

That's Crafty - MDF tags

DecoArt - sand paste, Media Fluids, weathered wood,

Finnabair for Prima, cogs and hearts

Prima, fibres

Thanks for popping by, see you soon

Take care as always

Hello crafty friends and followers, today is the Start of a new Challenge over at That's a Crafty and the Theme this week is All Things Bright and Beautiful. Is love you to pop over there and see what fabulous makes the team have for you this week. Enter the challenge and you could win £20 to spend in store.

Heres my creation for you

I used Prima Color bloom spray initially and using Stencils From That's Crafty and a baby wipe removed the colour through the stencil. Once dry I added some Bronze Crackle Paste from Prima, and another stencil from That's crafty.

Stamped the flowers onto Smoothy Card from Paper Artsy, and dried them off. I used a watercolour from Cosmic Shimmer plate 4 then put to one side to dry, and once so, cut them out. I went over the black to make sure it was seen. Added some stamping and th then it was finished. Here are some close up.

New Challenge

Morning everyone, yah! It's Friday and it's the first of April which must mean it's a new challenge over at Country View Crafts. The lovely Monica chose Spring for her Theme. How fabulous! The team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so hope you will be able to enter. If you win you get a £20 voucher to spend in the shop. Ooh I'm so excited, cannot wait to see what see what you all made. Here's my 1st creation for this month.

Let me talk you through what I did. Using coldpress watercolour paper I spritzed the card and while still damp added fluid watercolour paint from Ecoline. These are beautiful paints so vibrant. I allowed these to dry and then used White Acrylic to paint my flowers.

On top of the white paint I outlined the flowers with a black pen. I used a loose scribbled effect as I love this way of defining element. Each card was decorated slightly different but they all shared common themes, such as the colours and style. I edge the water colour paper and stuck them in place on the card.

I hand wrote my sentiments, partly because I want to use more of my own writing, and I also wanted them to be from me fully. I actually made two sets of cards, some I sent to my family and the others I abandoned in random places while on Holliday. I hope this encourages you get out the paints or pencils or pens, or all, whatever you like to creative with and create something which bring Spring you you.

Take care for now and I'll see you soon

Hugs Debs xx
