Playing with Fresco Acrylic Paint

IHello everyone. I am loving having today off. I have been painting since about about 8:30 this morning. I must of planned this in my sleep! because it was not in mind when I went to sleep, but this morning I woke up and this is what I got, we'll sort of! The point is it's them circles again. I am really loving the challenge at Paper Artsy this fortnight, which is circles.  I was inspired by Anneke de Clerk circles/flowers which you can see here.

I love circles anyway, but this challenge is making thinking of them in a different way.  I loved painting this so much it's now in my kitchen lol, and I'm entering this into the Paper Artsy challenge.

The canvass is an 8x12 deep one from Paper Artsy.
The Acrylic Paints I used are from paper Artsy. Purple Rain, SnowFlake, Hey Presto and Guacamole
The background is a combination of different sprays including, Lyndys sprays, DecoArt Media Mist and Prima ColorBloom.
Golden Glass Bead Gel

I'm not totally sure if it's finished, as I think it may look different once the bead gel dries. But for now it's finished.

See you all soon Hugs Debs xxx

Circles number three

Hello everyone, I've been having fun in the craft room creating something for my logo. And I found my self adding circles. They are tiny but definitely too large to be dots. So I thought I'd enter it into the Challenge at Paper Artsy whose theme is Circles. There are some wonderful inspirations over there so please don't miss it.

So here is my piece

ATC

Hello everyone, happy bank holiday weekend. I've been messing around with shrink plastic, this time for an ATC. Although originally I was just playing with nothing specific in mind accept the circles. They were inspired by Gabrielle. I just loved how her circles swept upwards and across. You can see her lovely journal page here

Im going to enter my ATC into the Paper Artsy's current theme which is Circles.

I coated an MDF ATC  in Crackle Paint and while it was drying I drew my flower on a piece of Shrink Plastic. I painted my flower with Paint Pens. Once it was dry I used a black pen to add some definition.

I cut a few different sized circles out of Shrink Plastic then punched a hole in each one. After shrinking them, I sprayed them with Green and Purple acrylic paint.

Once assembled I added some little gold circles using a stencil and finished off with some Treasure Gold in White Fire.

Here are some more shots.

Products I used

Photo Video Tuesday

Hello everyone, and welcome. I thought it might be nice to share how my projects progress by making videos of the photos. I know it's very last year, or is that last decade? Anyway I like them, and I'm not very good at making real videos. I'm aiming to start with one a fortnight on a Tuesday. I'll probably be tweaking the format etc. for a bit, so any feedback greatly received.

Today I am sharing a journal page inspired by the new challenge over at Paper Artsy, which is Circles. I am entering this page into the challenge.

It's well worth a visit to PA blog as it is a wealth of crafty inspiration and 'how to' videos by Leandra. This week there is a video from Limor Webber on the blog, which inspired my page.

I have to admit, I'm still stuck on the previous topic and playing with mediums, so when I saw her video I knew it was perfect for me.

                                                                  The Photo Video

First, using  Little Black Dress Fresco Acrylic, I stamped circles using a round distress sponge all over the page. I  used various pressures so that the circles were inconsistent.

I used Primary Elements mixed with Matt Medium  in Purple, Yellow and Orange, all of which were scraped on with a palette knife.  I then used a Thistle stamp with Archival ink in Watering Can all over the pages.

The circles are various lids which were coated in black Acrylic Ink. Once dry, I mixed Fresco Acrylic Paint in Blue Glass with some Crystal Glitter Decou-Paig and painted some of the circles. The other
circles are painted with Snow Flake mixed the same. Both paints acted like a glaze which was the

effect I wanted, as I still wanted to see the background through them. I added shade using a Black Stabilo pencil and highlights with a White Port Folio crayon.
I thought about finishing with a sentiment but nothing would come to mind, so I left it without.

Products I used:

Fresco Acrylic paint
ELB 22

Decou-Page Crystal Glitter
Matt Medium

Primary Elements

Well that's me done for night, see you soon and take care.

Gels and Mediums with Paper Artsy

Hello everyone welcome to my blog, where tonight I'm sharing a project I made for Paper Artsy's current challenge Gels and Mediums. The challenge ends soon but there is still time to enter.

Leandra has provided us with some amazing information on gels and mediums all of which you can see here. There is some fabulous inspiration on blog so if you have never played with these before then check it out. There is even a Master Class by Leandra and Lin Brown shows how to create some fabulous looks too.

I used an 8x8 grey/white board from Paper Artsy and painted it in these colours.

The next layer was Crackle Glaze by Paper Artsy followed once dry with a coat of Fresco Paint in
Chalk. Before I added the glaze I had added some petroleum jell to act as a resist.

I got some lovely cracks and I loved the colours the shining through. Once this was completely dry I gave it a coat of Matt Medium and dried it with a heat tool. I did this because I knew I was going to use some spray inks and wanted to be able to wipe it off the areas I didn't want it.

Now I planned out my board. I mixed some grunge paste with A little Fresco Paint in Holly and filled a syringe with the mixture. I then drew out a tree with some branches and then filled the inside with lots of texture and knotts. I added some stems and blossoms to the bottom of the picture.

While this was drying I stamped the tulip from ELB 23 onto shrink plastic in Black Archival Ink, coloured the backs in Claret Fresco paint, and then shrunk them down. I did the same with the seed heads from HP 1505

Using Archival ink in Fern I stamped some leaves and stems from ELB 22/23 and  using similar colours to the base layer added some background stamping.

I painted the tree with Fresco Paint in French a Roast and once dry sprayed the tree area with Lyndy's Stamp Gang spray in Incandescent Copper This gave a beautiful glimmer to the tree.

I stuck the flowers onto the tree. At this stage I liked it but felt something was missing. I played around with a few ideas but didn't like any of them. I was reminded of a fantasy wood, as I looked at board so thought that maybe a faerie or similar would look good. I had a rummage around and found some black and white photos that were printed onto paper. I chose my photo and with Matt medium transferred the image.

I loved how this came out, I see them emerging out of nowhere, which why I chose the sentiment from Finnabair for Prima. I finished with a tickle of Treasure Gold as Leandra would say.

I had a lot of fun making this so I do hope you get to play along as I just know you will all love playing with the gels and mediums.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your Weekend, take care and I'll see you soon. Hugs

New challenge at That's Crafty Under the sea

Hello everyone and welcome. Today I'm sharing my inspiration make for the new challenge at That's Crafty which is Under The Sea

I was going to call this off to the races as I realised I had put so many sea horses in the picture.

I have made a little video for you watch as there are so many steps to this piece. I used lots of different colour sprays starting with DecoArt Mists for good solid coverage, and then my stamps are from Oxford Express. I used grunge paste for the large flower which I had mixed with a chalk paint in mauve with a Prima stencil. Then drew my little mermaid.

Thanks for looking and take care, see you soon

Summertime no 2

Hello everyone Happy Sunday!

This is my second inspiration for Summertime at Country View Crafts. I have stayed in the garden but in a more traditional form. This is an 8x8 canvass.

For the background I chose several cut out elements and using Modge Podge stuck them to the canvas. For an even coloured surface I painted white Gesso all over the canvas.

I used Color Bloom sprays from Prima to colour the gesso and once dry moved onto the flowers and leaves. Flowers are a mix of JOFY stamps and Lin Brown stencil, both From Paper Artsy. The flowers were then painted in Media Fluids from DecoArt.

Thank you for popping in, I'll have another post going live this afternoon so hope to see you then. Take Care for now.

Show your face Inspired by Julie Ann

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. Today is Art it Friday at Kim Dellows Place and Paint Party Friday.
For the month of August Kim has asked us to play along with an inspiration challenge. The idea is to choose a face from the other faces linked to Kim's site say who it was that inspired you.

For a while now I have been thinking about creating a Frida painting and when I saw the lovely Julie Ann's from Magpie Heaven face last week I just knew immediately that, now is the time!

I used DecoArt Americana range of acrylic paint in my journal. I included a photo video of the steps if you care see how she was created.

I hope you can play along too. See you soon

Follow...

Hello everyone and a big welcome to you all. This week at That's Crafty I'm sharing some inspiration to remind you to follow your...

We all have different names for that unseen energy, inner self, soul or colour. That essence that connects on a higher level to something outside ones self. I experience this connection in nature, when making art, or meditating; I'm sure many of you know this feeling.

here is a sneak peek

To see this fully please pop over to Thats Crafty, it would be lovely to hear what  moves you, what do you follow?

Bye for now, and do take care. Hugs Debs xx

A view

Hello everyone and welcome. Thank you for popping in. Phew! I had a busy Weekend, lovely! But I was very tired by tea time yesterday. It wasn't me asleep on the sofa Honest lol.

Saturday I was Demoing Dylusions paints at birds In The Barn, I didn't take many photos but here's one with just the sentiment missing. It was so much fun.

Then on Sunday I went to the Stamperama in Stevenage and met up with mates, which was really lovely. Two of them I hadn't actually met in person but they were all lovelier in person than they are on line.

This one is taken by Sam. From left to right, Jo, Alison Me, Emma, Helen and Lin.

And this one below I took of Sam Emma and Alison

It was a smashing day!

Now onto my canvas board

Using Black acrylic I brayered the board keeping the centre fairly clear. I added a frame around the centre using acrylic Ink, as well as adding marks in Ink too.

I drew a view of Crinkle Crags with a stabilo All pencil and activated it with water to finish my scene. The crags  have been a long standing favourite climb of mine. It's a very long slog up but once you reach the first crag its part walk part climb 7 times. The first two count as the guide books count only 5. Anyway! Once the pencil was dry I sprayed Lyndy's Stamp Gang in Violet to the centre and let it drip a little to the sides. I blotted the centre around the fields but left a little of the colour showing.

I hope you like my view. Take care, each and every one of you. I'll be back soon. Hugs Debs xx
