again no 1 and no 2.

So here is how it went, I  started with my tag.

I then added some stamping

So many birthdays

Another quicky from me  tonight - all the birthdays are coming up and cards need to be made. Here are two CAS cards I made earlier. I forgot to take pictures but I used cards already die cut for quickness and JOFY stencil with versamark and embossed with WoW powders. I punched the butterflies and added some sparkle. I'm going to enter them into the Artful Times challenge.

And although very similar - different!

Helen's Choice

Hello everyone, thank you for popping by as I have a great project to show you by one of my twitter mates, Helen. It was her turn to choose the theme on the TIO challenge site, and she chose the letter N and stenciling. You can see Helen's and all the other talented people's here.

I was trying to catch up with blog posts as I am a bit behind and so busy at the moment, when I saw her fabulous inspiration. I thought about what I could do using a new die from sizzix which I have just bought from Country View Crafts, (arrived amazingly fast). And this is the result.

I covered a Manila tag in Fresco Acrylic Paint using Teal and Taupe. Next I stencilled in Chalk using a Tim Holtz stencil.

I distressed the tag with Walnut Stain distress ink and stamped some script and nibs in Potting Soil Archival ink.

I added my cut outs which I had distress with Tea Dye, Walnut Stain, Black Soot and Mustard Seed. Once dry I added some treasure gold here and there.

Now I assembled it all adding my words.

And here's the finished tag

I'm going to enter this into the challenge. Thanks for visiting and please come back soon. Debs xxx

Sara Naumann inspired Fathers Day Card

Good evening and welcome. I hope you have a had a good week and you're enjoying the weekend.

This week for me, has been a time for families. My daughter and family are all prepared for the arrival of their daughter due next month. All of us are eager to wish her welcome. My sister and I chatted for ages on the phone - not something for which we often have time. In addition Dad is coming for lunch to celebrate Fathers Day.

I have been putting off making him a card, as I'm really not wanting to make cards. I loved making cards last year but this year it feels like a chore. I connect this to my need to let my art happen intuitively rather than plan it all out as you do in a card. (Well sort of ). So, making them feels difficult!  However, make them I must, or else I feel guilty, uncomfortable.

Now,  there is a point to my waffle; over on the Paper Artsy blog this week Sara Naumann brought us this lovely creation. I loved her cards and thought the techniques would work great for my Dad's card.

I am entering this card into the challenges over on these sites

I used distress ink in various blues, stamped and spritzed onto my craft mat. I applied it to my white card with a brayer, drying in between layers.

My stamps are from IndigoBlu A5 plates, A Beautiful Mind and Take the a Time  I assembled the card and stamped the sentiment and added the embelishments.

Thank you for your visit. Big hugs Debs xxxx

My little plaque

Afternoon! thanks you for visiting, although this is going to a quick post as I want to get this into the Paper Artsy  challenge.

I loved what Liesbeth Fidder did which you can see by by following the link above, and wanted to catch some of the look onto my Plauque.

I followed all Liesbeth’s techniqies until I accidentally put some embossing powder in gold around the edge. Then somehow I put some shabby blue frantage into some corners. I love  frantage,  ever since I was introduced to it by Jo Myhill. Anyway here it is.

And as my husband suddenly got interested in the post one he took

Thanks for looking.

Tim Styley June Tag 2014

Hello everyone. I loved Tim's tag this month with all the great colours. You can see how Tim created his on the blog. I will enter this tag into the challenge. I'm also going to enter it at Vintage Journey's challenge,  which is about adding texture.

I pretty much followed Tim's, starting with my colour. I got three tag sized set of colours from the sprayed ink.

I also used another stencil to add more interest and attached to a Manila Tag.

I used flowers and dragonfly from JOFY 13 from Paper Artsy. I cut my stem off to get just the flower but in a way that it sits neatly back if needing the whole thing.

I stamped the flowers again and coloured with inks as with Tim's.

I stamped my sentiment and finished it off.

Thanks for looking. I see you soon

Mason Jar-ish

Hello everyone, I don't know about you but I am seeing these everywhere  and I love em!

You can read about them here

So I got from this

To this

And then this

By using this

From Paper Artsy in Dolly Mix Pansy and Sky lightened with chalk. They need about 3 coats and time to really dry out before each one. Mine will have another coat once I have the succulent plants for the other two. The soil is a sandy one with a few stones at the bottom for drainage.  I just think these have so many uses.

Thanks for looking Take care

June Sunset

Hello and welcome. Over on 'Our Creative Corner' this month's challenge is Orange. . This is not a colour I use a lot. I find hot colours ok but I do not connect to them the way I do with cooler colours. But here I go?

I used several reds and yellows Fresco acrylics from Paper Artsty brayed onto a tag

I then stamped in archival ink from Darcy 07 and heat set.

I used some paper from my scrap box which has gold thread sewn in in places, which I added brusho to in lemon and scarlet.

I also added some champagne from the Frantage range.

I carried on adding elements until I had created a tag which represented 'loving be at home with pretty flowers just as the sun starts to set. The sky is alive with colour which glints and shines all around.

'Every SUNSET gives us one day less to live, but every SUNRISE gives us one day more to hope.'

New work bag

Evening! What a fab day. I've played for most of it with this new bag for work. I picked my colours

Different colours for me, but that's all part of the challenge.

So here it is.

It is lined with a pocket for mobile pens etc and on the other side a zipped pocket. The outside fabric has been backed with heavy fusable lining which is very stiff and quite difficult to work with, but worth the effort if you need a sturdy bag.

This will be so useful for for work especially the size. I often take lots of things around with me and this will help. Thanks for looking. Take care Debs xxx
