New Challenge at country View Crafts

Hello everyone thanks for popping by, especially as today see the start of a new Challenge at Country a View Crafts. The new theme is Make your Own Background. I was thrilled that the very talented Sue chose this theme as I just love making backgrounds.

As always checkout the rules before entering the challenge to ensure your entry qualifies. You could be in with a chance of winning a £20 voucher to spend in the shop. My team mates have some fab inspiration for you too. If you would like to see what they have created please follow the link above, and don't forget to show them some love.

Here is what I created, I hope you like like it!

So for my background, I brayered Fresco Acrylic Paint from Paper Artsy in Haystack, Tinned Peas and China onto my journal page. Once this was dry, I added some visual texture with stencils and Colour Cloud Blending Inks from Cosmic Shimmer. I added another layer by stamping some elements from Emma Godfrey's new stamps EEG15 From Paper Artsy.

These stamps are fabulous as you can use them so many ways. Below you can see how I stamped over some Smoothy Card from Paper Artsy which is had painted in Haystack, and once dry I cut these out.

I wanted these for flowers, and made stems by cutting some straight pieces of card, and coloured them with a black Stabilo All water soluable pencil, which I activated with water. I cut them out and stuck the flowers and stems in place.

To finish, I added a tag onto which I stamped my sentiment again from EEG15 and then stuck it to the page. Here are a few more shots!

Above you can see I have attached a bead to the tag. This was made from paper clay and painted with Fresco Acrylic Paint in Little Black Dress From Paper Artsy.

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments and I'll answer asap. It been my pleasure sharing this with you, I do hope you like it, and that you are raring to have a go yourself. I'll will be back with you soon with something very exciting!

Take care, hugs Debs xx

  2. Hey Debs, just saw your comment on my butterfly collage and was hoping you'd take a second look and see them the beach glass beneath the butterfly was part of the focal point. Beach glass is broken bottle bits. Hope you'll reconsider my project for CVC. Thanks, Autumn
