Love is in the Air

Happy Valentines everyone, im sending love through airwaves. I hope you are having a lovely day. With love in mind I'd like to say that Mixed Media World is back after our little break, and our very talented leader Ingrid has chosen a apt theme for the month of love. Yes you guessed it,

love is in the air

This month we are sponsored by the fabulous Laura from That's Crafty who is giving a £20 voucher to the winner to spend in the shop.

My team mates have come up with some fabulous makes to inspire you, so I hope you can go and have a look.

My inspiration is a journal page using a mash up of gorgeous new stamps from Emma Godfrey and Sara Naumann both for Paper Artsy.

I'll talk you through as we go.

I stamped some script from ESN16 randomly in the areas I wanted it and then sprayed Rusty Latern Lime, Buccaneer Bay Blue, and a tad of Time Traver Teal From Lyndy's Stamp Gang sprays, letting in run in places. On top I stencilled some leaves using Fern Archival ink from Ranger and the stencil is from Paper Artsy SN 027. I also added the clock from ESN19.
I stamped and cut out my hearts EEG13 and flowers from EEG14 and arranged them in different ways until I was happy with how it looks. I was inspired to to use the layout I did by Sue Dondaldson who did something similar on my workshop I was teaching at Birds In the Barn.

I used different colours than you would expect from valentines inspired page but to be honest I'm not a lover of red. So I have gone for green and blue. All my elements were painted with Magicals from the Autumn leaves pack again from Lyndy's Stamp Gang.

The leaves I cut and stamped from ESN20 and sorted my final arrangement before sticking them down.

For my sentiment I stamped Love from EEG13 and then cut the other words from some books I picked up in my local charity store, all 10p each, and all related to art and craft in some way.

I am going to enter this page into Craft Stamper's current theme which is Text Me. You have to use text in your piece that doesn't include the sentiment.

I will see you all soon, take care, hugs

  1. I love how you've arranged the hearts, and the background is gorgeous, especially with the white space.
