Sculpture inspired

Today we visited Yorkshire Sculpture Park and one of the sculptures was this by

Niki de Saint Phalle

I really loved it as was inspired to create my own.

I started by drawing the figuring and breaking it up into segments.

I then used aquelle pencils to colour, adding water once completed to make the colours more vibrant.

I used Inktense crayons to make up the background and once dry I went round the figure in a white port folio crayon ( which I am loving more and more). Once I had blended the white I added yellow and blended.

At this stage I also went over all the pencil lines with a black artist pit pen. I also added some more patterns to the sections of the figure.

Next I stamped some corner flourishes from real red stamps and the ribbons from Darcy uk 07 at Paper Artsy which you can see here.

I then added a sentiment which I got from Pinterest

I really enjoyed creating this especially as it was a special day for my OH and me.

Lots of hugs and kisses
