The fresh greens and yellows and whites and mauves will making their entrance over the next few weeks as the flowers pop up in our gardens along the roads and in our parks and open spaces. I love the natural art they create in a palette that is my favourite.
So with that in mind I was inspired to create this page when I saw the theme over at Unruly PaperArts which is 'I should be so lucky' and
And Country View Craft' blog challenge is 'anything goes'
Lately I am playing with stencils any chance I get, and thoroughly enjoying the different effects I am getting with paints sprays etc. on this page I used Dylusions from Ranger and Fresco acrylics from Paper Artsy in various yellows blues and greens. I chose the acrylics that are translucent on top of the sprays to build the layers.
First layers using the Dylusions
I stuck to just three stencils and added the acrylics
The changes are subtle as the colours matched so well but you can see the added depth.
I added more layers by using the new stamps designed by Emma Godfrey for Paper Artsys
Because I wanted to bring the list stamps more to the front I added some Chalk Fresco to knock that area back.
I then added my feature which I had stamped, heat set and then rubbed Yellow Submarine Fresco over the whole image.
Below you can see where I have written the quotes I wanted ton the list stamp.
The finished page
I have started using two sheets of card when I do a page. The second one to act as a mop page. Below is the mop up of the above page.
Thanks for visiting
Bye for now Debs xx

ReplyDeleteSaw you were having a stencil purchasing frenzy last Sunday, some great prices so can see why. Was surprised to see Donna Downey or Dina Wakley ones for £3, i would have at that price too!
Amazing page, great colours and enjoying seeing your hand written journalling, adds to the beauty of your ArT:-) xxx
Very nice! Interesting to see the steps and how the translucent acrylics add depth. I love working with stencils, too :-) Thank you for entering the Unruly PaperArts Readers Art Quest which my stamp company is sponsoring this month. Good luck! ;-)
