Painting on wood

Hello everyone, thank you for your visit.  before I start, I just wanted to announce that I have another journal workshop coming up at Birds In The Barn in Marks Tey on June 20th starting at 10am. you can book your place here
Now! I've got a quickie today, inspired by the lovely Donna who loves to paint on wood.

Now this isn’t something I've tried a lot, so when my Hubby asked me to put two small pieces of wood into the car with the rest of the rubbish from the loft, I relocated them to studio.

The plaque was created using Fresco Acrylic paints from Paper Artsy, Prismacolor Pencils, and Colorbloom Sprays.

I’m entering this into
the Mixed Media Place DRAWING
Altered Eclectics           ANYTHING GOES

And I nearly forgot I'm linking my face to Kim Dellow's Art It Friday

I coated the surface in Vintage Lace as I wanted this as the base of the face. I then covered an area where my face would be with an oval mask and sprayed Colorbloom in Cotton Candy and Pressed Metal. Once dry I painted some flowers using snowflake Fresco. I left this to dry overnight.

I then sketched out my girl and added shadows and highlights in paint and then let it dry.

Using the pencils I added more shadows and highlights and added colour to her eyes and mouth.

Turning back to the paints I finished her off.

I think she has a cartoony look but like I her anyway.
Please come back tomorrow as I have another post ready with some good news.
Take care, all you lovely Arty People and I will see you soon.
