Here is my inspiration for today's challenge, please go check out all the other Design Team's
projects for more fabulous inspiration.
I started by sealing a 6"x6" board and once dry, painted on a liberal coat of crackle paint. I left this to dry and carried on with my feature.
I added Texture Sand in random places onto an MDF butterfly. I covered the sand with Media Fluid in Black, and once dry Quinacridone Violet.
Once the crackle paint was dry I used a stencil and crackle paste to add flowers to my board. I added to the ageing look with Antiquing Cream rubbed over the background in Patina and Burnt Umber.
Here you can see a close up of the crackle. I picked some bits of crackle off the flowers as I wanted to add something different to them later.
For edges I used aged Ochre embossing powder. This formed a frame around the board and served to contain the butterfly
I added some rusty wire to the butterfly and stuck her to the board, then finished off with my sentiment, which was stamped onto smooth white card and ink distressed around the edges.
