shiny Heart

Hi everyone. We had snow! It was very pretty, but soon disappeared and by the time I got home if any had fallen it had completly gone. I love watching Kashmir my cat in the snow, he is so funny talk about fair weathered. Or as I'm told you Northerners might say Nesh lol. He literally tip toes!

This photo is of him asleep on my I Pad as I type this blog. I'm typing with one hand and stoking him with the other.

I got a selfie with him earlier too lol

Now to what I've been up to. I had lots of ideas floating around but kept being drawn back to Shiney things and grunge paste which has embossing powder on top. I saw this on Massofhair's blog and that she has been inspired to do this by Pamellia check out Mo's Post here.

Everything I have used is from Paper Artsy, except the stencils and Frantage. I am entering their blog challenge with this canvas. The theme is Shiny and there is fantastic inspiration on the blog from very talented artists who are all very popular for their own individual style. it really is worth a visit.

I'm into Canvases right now, so took a 9x12 thin canvass and sprayed it with a mix of Marlin and Chalk Fresco  Acrylic watered down. When dried I scraped a mix of Pumkin Soup and Brown Shed on to the canvass with a palette knife. I loved the effect the knife had on paint and the grungy look it has.

I then used Grunge Paste in a heart stencil onto which I sprinkled different Frantage and gold embossing powders

The embossing has lots of texture and the colour is brighter than the light shows.

Below you can see some more stencilling both in gold and grunge paste.

I added orange made from Haystack which is opaque and London Bus  to add to the grunge paste. This was a tad too orange and so dampened the vibrancy with some French Roast Once dry I added treasure gold in White Fire.

I added more French Roast here and there with my finger onto the canvas. I didn't intend to have a rust look but it seems to have happened and I love it.

You can see below that I added some shadow with my stabilo all pencil on the word and around the heart.

I also added a small sentiment from a JOFY plate 13 randomly in black Arcival

This is so different for me and I really enjoyed making it. Thank you for your visit xx

Bye for now Debsxx

I love the selfie with him. Our cat Daisy is a huge fan of arts and crafts and she always wants to sniff Treasure Gold, which amazes me! I have to keep it well away from her!
