Hello everyone, sorry it's been a while, like many of us it's such a busy time of year. It's often quite a juggle trying to get everything else done and play, and I'm working on secret stuff shhh all coming next year. It's going to be an exciting year and I hope you come on the journey with me.
Anyway today is my turn over at Country View Crafts who theme for this month's challenge is Christmas, and I have a decoration to share.
In this photo the light are switched on.
The cage had been painted previously with crackle paint, but as I wanted to go rusty I decided to first spray it black!
Once that had dried I added some texture using texture sand and again sprayed it black. Then I added two coats of Quinacradone Gold. I love this effect learnt from Andy Skinner and one of my go to methods for creating a rusty look.
Now for the cones Die Cuts from Tim Holtz tattered cone using metal Paper and sandable paper.
Once it was dry I added the boubles and lights, fitted the cones and sentiment

I hope you like it. If you have any questions please leave in the comments or email me.
Take care
Hugs Debsxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a glamorous piece of festive decor you've created, Deb - love the new finish on the cage. Like you, I've been here and there in terms of blog presence this year, but I'm starting to get my feet back under the table (at least temporarily before it all kicks off again next year!).
