New challenge

Hello everyone Happy New I hope 2016 is a fabulous year for us all. Today, starts the new challenge at Country View Crafts and the lovely Brenda chose.

Be Inspired by Bottles

The team have come up with some amazing creations to inspire you so go take a look. Check out the rules before you enter as you don't want to be not entered. If you are the lucky winner you will receive a £20 voucher from Country View Crafts to spend in store.

For my creation I chose to use an old drink bottle from a well known coffee shop that a friend of mine was going to throw away. ( what am I like! nothing gets thrown in my company if I think I could use it).

I used A sealer by DecoArt on the glass first, then gave it a good coat of Crackle Glaze from Paper Artsy. Once it was dry enough I gave it a liberal coat of Fresco Acrylic Paint in Lake Wanika from Paper Artsy and left it to dry.

You can see from above that I I wrapped white thread around the bottom and just a little around the top and added my ribbon. To compliment my glass I made some flowers.

Using a Memory Keeper's flower board I punched out three in different sizes. I made mine with Kraft Card

I then spray painted them with Media Mists from DecoArt first the white all over and while still wet the turquoise blue, both have a shimmer. I attached them to the stalks again from Memory Keepers and attached the buttons. I wasn't completely happy with look and so added the white spots using Snow Flake from Paper Artsy

And here it is in my hall on a shelf. The photos make it look huge but the bottle is only 5 inches.

I hope I or one of my team mates has in spired you to have a go. I will be back next week with my second inspiration so hope to see you then. Take care, Hugs Debs xxx

  1. Fabulous crackle on the bottle, Debs - love that you just used a sealer rather than a paint base under the crackle - very cool! And the flowers are just delightful. Happy New Year to you!
