Wanda Styli

Hi everyone, it's a blustery wet day here and much colder than previously. However, I still managed to get out in the shed and have a play. I so inspired by Wanda's stunning creation over on the Paper Artsy Challenge blog , that I had to have a go.

This week, is Wanda's last guest spot on the Blog , check out here To go to her blog and see all her lovely makes.

So, I had a look around and could not find a canvas so thought I would use a hanging board, it wasn't as big as Wanda's but I knew it was right.

I pretty much followed Wanda's recipe until assembly.

Grunge paste, fresco paints in Squid Ink, Mushroom, and Eggplant.

I used the Squid ink around the roughened edges to give a distressed look.

I added some pleated organzer and secured with wired string.

I painted the flowers in  the same three colours, adding a touch of Yellow Submarine and Chalk to the centres.

(Sorry the photos aren't better the light was terrible)

To compete I added some open wove material under the main feature as I did not have the room to add more flowers as Wanda had. I love this combination of colours.

Thank you popping in, take care and come back soon.

  2. Beautiful hanging project Debs! I haven't had chance to check out Wanda's projects yet (off there in a mo) but I think I'm going to like it judging by this lovely piece. Wonderful colours and texture and love the wired paper twine over the organza.

It's been quite bitterly cold and windy here although we had bright sunshine this afternoon. I was even cold at the hospital visiting Mum which was quite strange as it's usually too warm for me and putting fuel in the car was horrible! The wind gave me a migraine!
